A place to develop

Regardless of incredible success that tablets have gained within such a short period of time, there is a sign showing that better things would come. As Shim said, “We do not even step out of the infancy period. We just start to find ways how to use sticks and balls”.

Developers have just begun to build the applications confirming this foundation. In many cases, the foundation can become what SOHO users want it to be as long as it gives developers the responsive application”.

Frid-Nielsen also believes the future of tablets would be adhered tightly  to cloud computing. He said, combining the technologies provided to SOHO users “the freedom in accessing data and information anywhere any-when...tablets and cloud computing technology are still in the early time, but I see the potential combination would have more widespread influence that can be easily larger than the personal computer revolution”.

Full of Applications

Maximizing possibilities of the tablet means that has to rely on applications, which are never limited. The numbers of shops for downloading application are also increase fast, including App Store from Apple, Appstore for Android from Amazon.com, Android Market, BlackBerry App World from RIM, AppUp from Intel, and App Catalog from HP.

One interesting thing about HP upcoming product is going to have webOS Pivot, monthly digital publication will have content about applications. Signs show that Microsoft will have its own application shop by the time it publishes Windows 8 tablet, probably will be in the end of this year or in the early of the next year.

Two examples have a connection with the general business are Evernote for iPad (free) and Splashtop Remote Desktop (free for $4.99 Android version; $9.99 for iPad version). Remote Desktop HD is also available for Android.

Evernote is also linked with Evernote soft-ware (free; $5/month for Premium version), allows user to catch up, organize and integrate note including text, website, photo etc. from PC, mobile phone, or iPad. Therefore, when a man fixes his house, he can use his iPad for keeping up the list of thing that he has to do, capture design ideas from websites, record any note, take photos of the process, and access the costing table, everything that can be done by Evernote. In a meanwhile, Splashtop application basically can allow user to run the desktop of the PC while still use and run content from the tablet, even Power Point slides, emails, calculators, flash videos, full-function websites, videos, audios etc. with the help of Wi-Fi and 3G/4G.
